Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish good fit. The jacket has been holding up well to numerous days of Wisconsin sub zero windchills with a merino wool sweater underneath. Love the feminine athletic cut as I have broad shoulders and long arms but don't feel like the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man. I bought the medium and am 5'7" about 140#. Arm measures (Mid back to wrist with elbow bent) is 32". Have gotten many nice compliments. Love the fact that its washable as I have a 3 year old and a senior dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a perfect system the components of this jacket work beautifully together and separately. Great for travel, light, packable, will cover a wide range of weather, best of all high performance fabrics without that "going camping" look. Well thought out design! my one quibble is the fit. I appreciate that the coat is fitted but it is cut very slim through the midsection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat! Be aware - Marmot runs small compared to many manufacturers. Marmot website shows Large is a U.S. Size 10. That said, I bought this jacket in olive (twice to get the right size) - it is technical and good looking at the same time - combines function with fashion! With this brutal winter, I needed a coat that was fashionable enough to wear out to dinner but can fight the elements (rain, snow, etc.) and keep me warm as well. Although the jacket is not expedition weight, it is doing a great job into the high teens Fahrenheit. I love the idea that I can take the lining out of the coat and use it as a rain coat during warmer weather and or use the lining as a lightweight "puffer" in spring and fall. The high collar not only looks fabulous, it keeps out the cold, and once you pull the hood up, you are very well protected. The magnetic closure on sleeves and front placket are a great touch. I bit the bullet and spent on this jacket - so glad I did!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this coat but sending it back Wanted a stylish warm "car coat" to wear to work and was sure I had found it. I love the color (claret) and the fitted style also makes it look nice enough to wear out in the evening. The magnetic closures instead of buttons give the front of the coat a very sleek look, but their placement on the sleeves will prevent me from keeping it. The sleeves are too long and I would happily pay to have them tailored to keep the coat, but because of the placement of the magnetic adjustments, my tailor said that shortening them would be very costly and the sleeves wouldn't look proportionate. So sad that I have to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful, warm, and not down! I got this coat upon moving from California to Chicago, and I was looking for something warm, but for ethical reasons, not down. This really fit the bill. It has been far into negative temperatures, snowing, raining, everything, and this coat has held up beautifully. Even though when I first got it it looked really thin, the material does really work and it has been very warm. And, because it's thin and sleek, it looks great for all occasions. I also love that it is totally windproof, and because it zips up and covers my nose and mouth I really can completely cover up. I wish it was a little longer (was looking for full length), but this is the best synthetic coat I have yet to see. Though a bit more expensive than down coats, if you are like me and have ethical concerns I think it is well worth the extra money to get real warmth and quality craftsmanship.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful & warm too My daughter has this coat and loves it. It looks so sharp on her I wanted to try it too. Sadly it is very fitted in the waist tummy area and although I am not large that area was too tight. I had to return the medium and knew the large would be too big. I am 5'5" 130 lbs. Great quality, warmth and look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and dry I bought this jacket just in time for the winter weather to hit New England. I commute to/from Boston for work and this jacket keeps me nice and warm while I'm waiting for the train. Especially on days like today when it's -4 degrees outside. My favorite feature is the high collar, which helps to keep my neck and face shielded from the wind. I can't wait to see how well the jacket holds up in snow and rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat I've ever owned This coat cost approximately one million dollars, but it is the greatest coat I have ever owned. Normally I'm really cheap, but frankly I really needed a winter coat, I wanted one that wasn't made with down (RIP birds), and really this is two coats in one. In typical sports company fashion, this coat is soooo well designed I can't even complain about the cost. It's easy to take the two coats apart, there are pockets on outside and inside (too rare with women's coats) of BOTH coats, and the best part about it, I think, is that I don't get overheated in it. Somehow they managed to make a winter coat in which you are not cold....but you are also not hot. I walk a lot here in Washington, DC, where one day we have a blizzard and the next day it's 50 degrees, and I haven't gotten to the point where I have to tear my coat off because I'm about to faint. I also haven't gotten to the point that I'm so freezing cold that I have to go inside - that's not true, but it was because of the parts of me that weren't in the coat. Seriously, the best coat I've ever owned. No regrets.
