Rated 3 out of 5 by from ambiguous jacket The jacket is made of good materials that do not rub off with constant wear, it is really warm, but in the second i got problems with fluff. He climbed out of the all seams. Before this jacket i was wearing Guides Down Hoody, this jacket didn't have problems, although the material are less stable. Overall, the jacket is good, but if this this problem is constant i would not recommend to buy it. I won't want buy this jacket anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm belay jacket! Got this jacket spring 2015 thinking I'd probably never use it to its fullest. I was wrong. I recently took it on an ice climbing trip to NH and it saw quite a bit of use. Wandering around the campsite at night in the low 20s and in the morning around 10, it definitely kept me comfortable - even on those miserable 4am bladder excursions with only undies on. As a belay jacket, it was ridiculously effective. The best testament to the warmth of this jacket, however, was putting it on an injured friend who was in mild shock. It was around 20 degrees and he took an adze to the side of his head when the ice turned loose. Fortunately, he was already on the deck. After carefully assessing the injury, I pulled out the Shadow and put it on him. We could clearly see him relax immediately once it was on. He thanked me no less than five times that afternoon for making him put it on! I'd love the same warmth in a somewhat lighter, more packable garment, but in the meantime, this thing will make it on all my winter climbing trips! Love it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly a sizing review Bought in July so really can't comment on warmth yet. Purchased as a second ski jacket for those -14 degree days at Sugarbush and Cannon--all I can say right now is that it seems to be a very substantial jacket. Size- Typically wear a small as I'm 143lbs and 5'10". The small fit well in most areas but was a bit snug under the arms. Exchanged for medium and although it's a bit baggy in the shoulders, there's no tight spots. Arms are bit long in the medium but not uncomfortably so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black magic aka...Shadow Jacket I got my Shadow just in time for the big snow storm that hit the NYC. Along with my Marmot gloves and beenie. The cold and over 25 inches of snow was no match for The Shadow which lived up to the hype.
