Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't leave home without it. This has been one of the most important layers in my kit. I use it all summer and winter guiding in the Tetons. I find that it goes with me on 95% of my guiding days. It's breathability is unmatched by any other insulation I have used in the mountains. Not to mention the overall comfort of just having the jacket on. It is amazing how quickly the jacket dries out if it gets wet. I have had the same one for the last 3 years and may have used it over 400 days in the field and it is still in great shape. If you are looking for one do it all lightweight puffy than this is it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go-to Jacket I live in the northeast so I bought this to be a versatile thermal layer or fall/spring jacket. It is very warm and very breathable. Wore it on a XC ski trip and it was perfect for high activity at 30 degrees. Surpassed every expectation I had. Fit much better than some competitors due to the stretch panels. 5'11" 160 lbs and the Medium fit as expected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features and adaptability. Works extremely well over a wide range of temperatures, especially in conjunction with a merino baselayer and the Zion jacket. The fit needs a little work, though. I'm 5'8", 185 lbs, spend a little time in the gym, and wear a size 44-45 suit jacket w/ a 34.5" sleeve, so XL shirts and jackets typically fit well. Not so much with the Isotherm. The cut across the lats is too restrictive and the fabric isn't stretchy enough to keep it from binding when extending the arms forward. Extending the softshell material from the shoulders down to mid-torso would alleviate this issue and enhance breathability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific insulation for aerobic activities Although I had used this piece for months as lightweight insulation for temperatures in the 30's and 40's, most of that activity had been only moderately aerobic. I'm just back from a week of nordic skiing! The very best insulation I've ever worn. I was warm and above all dry in temperatures from the low 20's to low 30's. One additional benefit: it layers beautifully with the Ama Dablam parka, making for a really, really warm piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Restrictive Upper Body Fit The Alpha insulation seems to breath well although I've only worn it a few days walking around town. I snagged the outer shell fabric zipping the pocket up - like zipping a sleeping bag. I wear an XL in Jackets and the "bear hug" test for coats reveals the shoulders are a bit too snug - a first for me.
