Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality Product I bought this Jacket right in time for Winter and was so impressed by its smooth, soft and light weight material. Have been wearing it almost every day ever since I got it. Put all other winter Jackets away. Nice water repellent capacity and extreme warmth. No need for layers underneath. No feeling of Bulkiness. Hood is a great addition, eliminates the need for winter hat and neck scarf. Pockets have a great hand warming capacity. Excellent Fit. Jacket will not leak feathers unlike other traditional down jackets. Have had couple of strangers approach me for more information on the Jacket after seeing "Marmot" logo on the front and back. Overall excellent product and Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made! This jacket occupies a tidy niche between the lower priced synthetic insulated jackets and the higher priced, more heavily insulated ski parkas. Seamless on the inside, nothing to catch or tear. Nice lined pockets, including a big one on the inside for what have you. The external fabric does shed light moisture pretty well, but wouldn't rely on it during a heavy downpour. The hood does a very good job of keeping out cold wind, especially if you use the provided drawstrings to cinch it tight. This is clearly a jacket that was designed for staying outside, in a variety of weather conditions. Very lightweight, for the amount of insulating power. <p> But how warm does it keep you? Well, it's very good as is until about 20 degrees or so. Below that, it feels a bit thin-you'll want something underneath it. I went ahead and bought the matching Zeus parka (in fluorescent green, natch!) to use inside this coat, as a liner. NOW you're talking! That combo is formidable! I've been toasty warm down to 0 degrees with this; I'll let you know how well it does much below 0. I have a feeling I'll have no complaints! Sure, I've spent a total of $350.00 for the two, but now I have something that matches the pricier parkas for about the same amount of scratch, but with added versatility, since both the vest and parkas can be used by themselves. This is worth looking into!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Perfect weight for cold days at Jackson Hole. Works well under a shell or alone. I'm 5'10", weight 162 with fairly long arms - the large fits great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for NYC Winter weather Today was 20° (Fahrenheit) with a windshield which was rated at -2° and this coat worked perfectly for me today. I was also wearing it indoors before I went outside. 1. The coat doesn't overheat you indoors (probably bc it vents out the heat, which it a good thing). 2. When I walked outside, my center mass didn't feel any different outdoors than indoors! Thats amazing! And it doesn't feel too warm when all zipped up when i am outside. I wouldn't suggest this coat for people that live in sub-zero temperatures everyday in the winter, but it can handle up to zero degrees. The pockets are really warm. I am a broad 5'7, a skinny 140 pounds, and athletic built. I got a size small, it fits my perfectly. its snug but not constricting. If you are any larger than me, than don't get a small. I have the black colored version and I like the look. This coat has a double zipper so you can have the coat zippered but have the bottom open if you like, this feature is ideal for sitting in a car or driving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I bought the older version last year to use as an everyday jacket here in MN.  We had 20 plus days that were negative 20 below 0.  This jacket worked great to keep me warm when going out to the car each morning.  I have other "active" jackets that I use but this one could be used for outdoor activities as well.  Coupled with my ROM jacket underneath, I think this combination could take me anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Jacket Light, warm for NYC's brutal winter with no leaks. A functional hood likes to go on your head as soon as you don the jacket. Down is said to retain loft in the wet: true! Would be great if the jacket shell had DWR. Some recent jackets I have purchased do not have double zippers, this one does: useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! I live near Lake Placid in the Adirondack Mtns.  We get plenty of cold weather and frequently temps well below zero.  I wanted a warm coat but did not want the weight of wool.  This coat has been perfect.  Very warm and if necessary you can layer under it for added warmth.  When I'm outside for several hours I appreciate the fact that it is very light in weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from year four going strong Worn it to the glaciers in Alaska (twice) and just about everywhere in between. Rock solid, warm as all get out, sturdy. Great quality and durability - you'll get your money's worth out of this thing for sure. Hood is key.
