Rated 3 out of 5 by from Durable gloves, but left not as good as the right. I've had these for a year and really like them for their intended purpose except there are some construction issues in one of the gloves causing the glove fingers to twist on my fingers. This puts the finger seams across my finger tips and is a bit annoying, and causing some premature wear on the one glove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable! Have bought a couple pairs of these over the years for work around the house and farm and haven't found anything that compares for cold weather. Believe me, I've tried and worn out a lot of gloves between tractor work, logging, snow blowing, splitting wood and brush clearing. I normally only use pig skin designs and go through several pair a year. I really like the fact that they are lightly lined, but find that they do run small - I'm average sized at 5'10" and 175#, but need the XL gloves. I'm usually a large in other products. They are a bit too warm for the summer work, but great for the other three seasons in New England

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality horrible fit Really like the quality of the glove. Not happy however with the fit. I got large gloves and they are pretty tight on the back of my hands and loose around the thumb area. A real strange fit. I usually take a medium in gloves so was surprised that a large is tight. Just my two cents worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go-to glove for cold, wet ice These are my go-to gloves for ice climbing in the Northeast. As another reviewer noted, mix these with a can of sno-seal and you are set. I typically go through two pairs over two seasons, averaging 20-25 days of ice and mixed climbing. The dexterity is incredible, and the construction has a slight "pre-curve" to the grip, unlike industrial gloves which sometimes feel like they are fighting you as you grab your ice tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been looking for a I have been looking for a pair of gloves that meet my needs for some time now, and was very happy to have found these. I bought two pairs right away and will buy more. I am a EDD K9 handler, and the dog I was assigned is a large, hyper-drive K9 that is tough on all gear, especially gloves. I need gloves that protect my hands from injury, but also allow me to have some dexterity to manipulate snaps, hooks, and other gear items I need when working. These are a perfect compromise for me. I have spent much more on high end gloves that have not made it through the week without blowing out in the palm and/or fingers. These have held up amazingly well, and show no sign of weak spots or impending failure yet. I have also not had any hand injuries since I have been using them. Thank you for making such a great glove. They meet my working needs well, and are comfortable enough that I have been wearing them for casual use also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its no secret that ice Its no secret that ice climbers across the country rely on a certain well-known brand of industrial leather work gloves. The system works well - you buy a few pairs and a can of snow seal. When your first pair wets out, you stuff them in your parka and take out the next. Here, Marmot has managed to take a good system and make it great. The Basic Work Glove has a much higher-performance and dexterous fit than its industrial counterpart. With liberal application of snow sealant, I've found them to be incredibly durable - I took two pairs through an entire season of New England ice and mixed, including some mixed hand jamming and face climbing, and they show no signs of wearing out. Some folks will prefer a high performance, higher cost glove, but for those of us who preach the "cheap gloves, many pairs" approach the Basic Work Glove is fantastic. I would buy more, but mine still haven't worn out...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great quality; poor sizing. I purchased an XL pair of these gloves for my father (6'3"; former college football player). He couldn't get his hand in past his knuckles. The wrist size seems strangely narrow. Great glove, though. I have a different pair by Marmot; love the quality... BUT I was really disappointed to have to send these back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and idea but run very very small I have several pair of Marmot gloves and this was a first purchase of this model. They are a fantastic idea and I planned to use them for cold weather rope rescue work. Unfortunately the sizing is way off. I can wear spring gloves in medium and the Randonee glove in large with a 100PS liner. This glove in large prevents full range of motion in my hands. Would recommend but buy a size or two up.
