We find we are most at peace in the mountains. Everything seems to click. Our energy soars, or spirits are high and our drive for life is in full force. For us it is where we spend ninety percent of our time, sleeping, eating and living in the dirt.

Climbing is not just a hobby for us, but a way of life and our outlet into the mountains. It is the perfect mechanism to take us to unexplored places and spend time with the people we cherish. Recently it took us on a three-week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. With four of our best friends, enough climbing equipment to climb El Capitan, and plenty of food, we set off to find as much climbing as we possibly could.

By our third day, our fingertips were bleeding, our toes were swollen and our bodies ached from too much climbing. We were constantly pulling the rafts over to climb on virgin rock. It was a dream for all of us. After three weeks we found more climbing than we knew what to do with and had to pass by even more. Some of the rock was too soft and dirty to climb on, but where the river had once been, the rock seemed bomb proof.

For twenty days, we lived in the same clothes. Perhaps they smelled a bit worse and had a bit more of a reddish dirt tone in them, but they worked for everything we did; hiking climbing, and getting soaked by the cold Colorado river. We look for clothes that we can do everything in, we don’t want to have to carry a wardrobe around for each activity. Our sportswear collection meets our every need.

For our next trip to South Africa I am sure we’ll have a few more stories to share. Stay tuned!
