You may not believe it - but we do as much camping as possible here in KENTUCKY.
Backwoods mostly so the techniques are great for kids and family. My daughter asked for a new tent from Santa at Christmas and since I know St. Nick fairly well, Im contemplating a new Marmot rig, with a sleeping bag as well but undetermined as to which tent to go with yet. I can finally get rid of this Coleman antique I have had for years. Maybe we could discuss Marmot as a partner of the 2010 Forecastle Festival in Louisville. Its focused on Music Arts and Activism. www.forecastlefest.com .
Thanks.

Marmot gear is the best!!!!!!!!!

I bought a Marmot sleeping bag ages ago when they were still making some available with an outer Gortex shell. It has held up really well and is one of the best purchases I ever made.

Would love to win the tent!!

Is it true that marmots taste like chicken? Everything tastes better outdoors anyway. Was just reading about the Taku. I remember salivating over it 20 years ago when I first saw it in your catalogs, and people are still talking about them! Great company. Don't ever sell out to the outdoor gear overlords snapping up all the once independent firms. Radio-free Marmot!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I have been in the Special Forces for the last 20+ years. I have had to work and survive in the most arduous environments in the world. I have been issued many other popular named products and have always found myself buying something Marmot to actually wear in the field due to the fact that your product has been the most reliable equipment that I have worn and used.I have been wearing Marmot products since 1993. I never used a Marmot tent and I would appreciate the opportunity to try one..... and any other products you have to offer me to test and evaluate for you. I would be happy to provide feedback to you.

I have also tried in the past to become a member of your "marmot pro team"

I need a killer tent, and this looks uber killer.

why don't you make xxxl clothing? I am big and active. It sucks that yoiu don't make close for bigger people. I used to LOVE your product but was always close to fitting into your stuff. I now can't do it and am super bummed. Love to raft, snowboard, snowmobile and snowshoe and do it frequently. Can't find clothes that fit.

I have a Nyx 2P also and love it--the color is wonderful, especially on rainy days, and the window is great to decrease cabin fever and to check the weather. I use it without the tent sometimes in Big Bend to save weight (just the fly with poles).

QUESTION: my fly has become "sticky" on the inside--like the silicone is not dry. I sprinkled it with baby powder to roll it up today, but I'm worried it has lost its water-shedding ability.

Anyone else experienced this? This ocurred after a very hot summer--it was rolled up and kept in our garden shed for a couple of months. But this doesn't seem quite right for a quality tent fly--any ideas ??

thanks!

I bought a NYX 2P Marmot tent about three years ago. Its a fantastic backpacking tent, great ventilation, weight, very light and its free standing. The colour is very health for your mind expecially in the morning light. I have a number of other european and American made tents, but this is just simply my favourite. I also work part time in Coast Mountain sports Edmonton. I find marmot tents sell themselfs. Dollar for Dollar they are impossible to be beaten. Well done team Marmot

I have two tents already, a winter convertible Swallow 2p that I LOVE, it's warm and for the extra weight, it's worth it, and it's strong as all get out! I just bought a Titan 2p, slept in it in the front yard, bought it for my son to use in scouting, he loves it, and I am ready to steal it from him and give him my old Kelty... yeah it's nice! I love the thought that has gone into the details, twin doors rock, a front porch? who would have thought, that is killer cool. The little plastic windows so you can watch bears eat your food from within the confines of your tent, great idea! Just kidding about the bears, but it is nice to see the variable stake points on the pull tabs. This is a fantastic tent set, I would highly recommend either!

I have become a Fly Fishing Freak and cannot wait till my next trout fishing expedition. I had a great trip to Jackson Wy and can't wait to get back up there. Also, looking forward to a Eastern Sierra trip before this winter with my two sons. This tent would be a huge bonus for our family camping trips. I know from experience that Marmot makes premium outdoor adventure gear. Thanks for the opportunity. Cheers!

I am a huge outdoors enthusiast and I also fully admit to being a gearhead. Having the right gear just makes your outdoors adventures just that much more fun and safe. While I do not buy exclusively from Marmot, they are easily in my top 3 companies for outdoors gear (Patagonia, Marmot & Outdoor Research). Every product I have ever purchased from Marmot has performed at least as well as expected and many times well above that mark. I am one of the people who buy new jackets every year while still keeping the old ones so as you can imagine my closet is chock full of hard shells, soft shells, fleece jackets and everything inbetween. I just cant bring myself to part with old gear. Anyways when it comes to outdoors gear and clothing, Marmot is right at the top and I imagine I will still be buying Marmot gear as long as I am still able to go outdoors.

I purchased my first Marmot product, a down sleeping bag, back in the early '80s from Teton Mountaineering in Jackson Wyoming. That bag has seen hundreds of nights out; camping in the Tetons both winter and summer, it's made two trips up El Capitan and several other Big Walls in Yosemite, and countless cold nights in Death Valley National Park. It may not be as fluffy as it was 25 years ago, but it's still going strong and still keeps me warm on cold winter nights.

My newest Marmot additon is the Eos 1, a one man tent. It's small, light, and roomy - perfect for solo outings. I'm sure I'll get at least 25 years out of this investment too!

My wife and I bought two Marmot waterproof shell jackets. It's as if those jackets called on the weather. Jacket and weather worked together to give us some of the most memorable and fun hikes we've ever had! Hiking through a thunderstorm
in northern Michigan with driving rain! Oh rats!
Our hands got wet! :-) The rest of us was totaly dry.

Hiking through a thunderstorm with driving rain and hale in the Smokey Mountains. Coming down a cliff trail one person wide with a cable bolted to the cliff. Oh, yeah, you didn't want to use the cable because of the lightning. But then again the hale was making the narrow trail really slick. Did I mention, we didn't get wet??? :-) :-)

Love these jackets Marmot!
Keep up the good work!!!!!!!

I have bought many Marmot products over the year and have traveled around the world with them.

They make my travels comfortable and fun.

The cut, the material and the toughness is unparalelled for the price and weight.

My hat is off to you guys.

You really think the products through before you roll them out.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you, for holding such a wonderful giveaway, I truly appreciate it! I am a 3 time cancer survivor (age 10, brain tumor[Menegeoma], age 21 Uterine Cancer [discovered when I was 6 months pregnant], age 36 skin cancer), as well as a 30% Service Connected Disabled Veteran (US Army 6 years). I am adopting my Husbands Boys that have been living with my Husband and I for 11 years, after my Husbands X stabbed him the in the stomach, in front of the boys. One needs a heart transplant (his heart is functioning at 30%, One is Bipolar, and one has post traumatic stress and Oppositional defiant disorder. I have tried to teach my kids, that nothing is so bad, that you can not over come it. Laughter goes a long way to making yourself, and those around you feel better. I refuse to go to bed angry, and I refuse to wake up angry. I try and make the most out of every day (including taking time to stop and smell the roses). I just turned 46, and have done so much...I lived in Europe, I sang in a band, I play Cello and Bass, I love my kids, I have a great Husband...and you know, I don't think I would have done so much if I had not had cancer. My personal philosophy about life reflects the Tim McGraw song “Live like you’re dying” P.S. Marmot is one of the only companys that is as tough as I am....

I've had the same Marmot fleece jacket (which is worn alone or zipped into my Solstice parka-type hooded jacket for a really dreadnought combo) for about 10 years and it's ready for another Northeast fall/winter this year...wears like iron. Best money I ever spent on gear.
