Marmot MemBrain®

MemBrain® fabric balances the best performance in waterproof, breathable fabric with excellent durability.

MemBrain® reduces internal condensation while increasing comfort by reducing the chilling effect caused by condensation build-up.

When used with insulated garments or sleeping bags, MemBrain® protects the insulation from harsh weather conditions.

600 Fill Down

Certified 600 Fill Goose Down bags are constructed with the following features:

  • Nautilus Hood: the same construction as our 8000m jacket hood, a 3D hood that
wraps around your head and reduces heat loss.
  • Hood Muff: creates a warm down gasket around your face, keeping the drawcord
    away from the face.
  • Stretch Tricot Baffles: allow the bag to be stuffed and unstuffed without tearing the baffle material.
  • Trapezoid Foot box: matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heels.
  • Down Fill Oversized Draft Tube: eliminates cold spots
  • Zipper guard: keeps the draft tube fabric from getting caught in the zipper
  • Ground Level Seams: top layer wraps fully around the body creating a warm layer of down.

I Love Marmot ! <3

I love my marmot its so much better than my north face..

this sh** rocks

I agree with you,Marmot is so much better than other brands of parkas,i will be buying various other Marmot gear, what do you think about the Bastione-3way jacket or similiar model for late winter-early spring weather most of us experience at some point.

my marmot is official, this coat hot as h*ll, love my parka.....

I have 3 Marmot coats and just purchased this in the same size (Large) and it is HUGE - I swear it must be sized like a XXL! With my hands to my sides the sleeves went down to the tips of my fingers! I may have to order a size small to fit me and I am 6' 185 with an athletic build.

This is a great parka with a major flaw. The Jacket is great, warm with cinch strings at all opening, collar and bottom both have cinch strings and chuffs are adjustable to seal out the cold. The materials are excellent and the shell material is not only water proof but very sturdy. There are 9 pockets all together both inside and out and a cleaver one in the snow skirt which can be accessed without opening the jacket. The jacket is warm but it seems that it could use a little more down around the shoulders, this may be normal. Now we get to the hood and it is the major flaw in an otherwise excellent coat. Unless you have a head the size of a large pumpkin this hood will be way too big. It is ridiculous and does not seal the wind out like the rest of the coat. I have a large head and the wind comes blowing in around both sides of my head because the cinch strings can not seal this gigantic hoods opening. You need to wear a hat with this hood and it is still drafty. This hood really kills what would have been and other wise excellent coat.

Hey has anybody compared this Marmot parka to the Parkas that LLBean or Lands End,which is better, although I plan to purchase the Yukon Classic in the near future/days from now.Can the Marmot hold up to the reviews I have read about it. Curious

simply marvelous,my future outerwear gear,good quality constuction&craftsmanship.

I have worn a Marmot jacket for over 10 years! Never let me down and never goes out of style. Best investment I ever made in clothing.

I live in Minnesota. It's cold as hell up here. It was -17F just yesterday morning. Michelin-Man down coats with 600+ fill power are a must. It's also quite windy, and this year in particular very snowy. So you can wear a Michelin-Man sweater, but you'll often need a waterproof/windproof shell as well.

The beauty of this jacket is that it gets you sufficient down for sub-zero temperatures without the puffy look, and it has a nice waterproof shell built-in. So you lose a bit of flexibility, but if you deal with freezing temperatures, wind, and wet, it's well worth it. Also, coming down to mid-thigh is a marked advantage, as is the warm, insulated hood. This jacket with my Canada Goose "Elmer Fudd" fleece-lined, shearling earflap hat and some nice gloves means I'm comfortable in even Minnesota weather for hours. Balaclava or mask also needed in the dead of winter :)

The pockets are great and many. They are sized large and many are fleece-lined.

Finally, the thing just looks good. This could be worn in a business casual or even a somewhat formal context.

They are sized generously. I'm 5'9", 150 lbs and a medium has plenty of room for layers.

the best coats and parkas by far ever created

just bought this jacket a few days ago. i plan to use this skiing in northern michigan and in colorado this year. the warmth that you get from this parka is insane. the look of the parka are nice, but the sleeves are a little stocky, so you do loose a little flexibility. the compressibility of the parka is crazy...it can easily fit into any pack if you are hiking up a mountain. honestly, my one complaint is the placement of the pockets are a little awkward. all and all this is a fantastic parka. thanks marmot....you are my new favorite brand.

Best one piece winter jacket I've ever had. Warm enough for any possible everyday use short of high altitude expedition use. Just a joy to wear. Well made from top quality materials with Marmot's exceptional care for detail. I'm just leaving for the winter count of wolves and moose on Ilse Royale and this is the coat I'll be living in. I have an 8000m coat which is overkill for most occasions (but the best when you really really need it), an Alpinist shell and 3 Guides Down sweaters which are my most versatile and well loved general three season wear. Marmot has never let me down. I love excellent tools and Marmot makes the best outerwear going.
