800 Fill Down

Certified 800+ Fill Goose Down bags are constructed with the following features:
- Nautilus Hood: the same construction as our 8000m jacket hood, a 3D hood that
wraps around your head and reduces heat loss. - Hood Muff: creates a warm down gasket around your face, keeping the drawcord
away from the face. - Stretch Tricot Baffles: allow the bag to be stuffed and unstuffed without tearing the baffle material.
- Trapezoid Foot box: matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heels.
- Down Fill Oversized Draft Tube: eliminates cold spots
- Zipper guard: keeps the draft tube fabric from getting caught in the zipper
- Ground Level Seams: top layer wraps fully around the body creating a warm layer of down.

This will be my second jacket- I also own the older style in black. It's my favorite go-to jacket for nearly all types of weather, excepting the deep cold of a North Dakota winter. Layers well, keeps the cold and wind out, even on blustery days. Light rain doesn't seem to bother it, and washing it up with down care type products renders it as good as new! However, since it's an ultralight jacket, care must be taken to not abuse it too badly. Scrunches up about softball size for packing in your pack. Best take along jacket I own!
The ONLY thing I have ever wanted as an improvement in this jacket is a 2 way zipper. Would make things really nice! Otherwise, a perfect 5!

Got this jacket to replace the older style Venus I have that is just plain worn out. Just a note here- they aren't sized the same as the older style Venus jackets....go one size up if you order a new one. I'm 5 ft 6, 125lbs and had to go from a large to an extra large in the new style. Still love the jacket, just a bit disappointed in having to chase around the internet for a size XL jacket. Time consuming as well as expensive when I have to pay the postage back to return a jacket that SHOULD fit, but doesn't. Still love Marmot- I just wish you guys had a bit more direct way of finding the jacket/merchandise we want to purchase! Thanks again for your high quality gear.
4 stars for a great product- one off for the hassles it is, finding product online.

This is an awesome, awesome jacket. Almost feels like you aren't wearing a jacket it is sooo light weight but it keeps you nice and warm with out feeling suffocated. It seems to adjust to the temperature so I always feel just right. Not to mention the chevron stitched pattern is definitely flattering and stylish. I bought this in the persian red, which is actually kind of like an intense fushia with hot pink lining inside. I went with extra small, weighing 110 and 5'2'' height. I would recommend, if possible, going to a store that sells this jacket and not buying it online! it is expensive and it would suck to order the wrong size! :) So go buy it! you will love it!

This is the cutest warmest lightweight jacket there is. I always wanted a Patagonia down sweater but then I tried this on and it was SO much cuter. The patagonia is too Michelin man not flattering but this jacket is just as warm 100 bucks less (at REI) and much better looking. I LOVE IT and wear it almost every day.

Just received this jacket in Dark Violet. LOVE IT. It's so light and warm like everyone said. And it's much cuter and stylish than it is pictured online. I like to also say that it is a better quality product than other popular brands like North Face.

I love this jacket. No complaints. I'm only commenting because a previous review. I am also 5'6 and 125, but a small fits perfect and leaves room for layering. Not sure where an XL came in her mind, but that is incorrect. This is true to size

Just purchased this jacket and absolutely love it. I had looked at other down coats, but this one was the lightest and warmest. I have worn it every single day since I bought it!

I used to be a Patagonia woman. I love, love, love, this jacket. Highly recommended, so reasonably priced.

I just wanted to mention that although Marmot does not advertise the fact for some reason, this jacket will stuff easily into the zippered chest pocket. Just turn the pocket inside out, stuff the coat in, and close the double sided zipper. Beautiful.

Bought this jacket as a Christmas present to myself and wore it on a hiking/camping trip to Big Bend. It handled some pretty chilly mornings with ease, and I'm very cold-natured. Stuffs very small into a pack as the day warms up. And the blue color is gorgeous and bright and cheery. I had tried on several down coats at REI (including the Patagonia sweater that I was also considering due to the good reviews). But I liked this one the best and generally feel good about the Marmot brand. I do love this coat, so still feeling great about Marmot!

I got this jacket for Christmas in black it is absolutely perfect. I am pretty sure I have worn it every single day. It's warm but never hot and it has enough zippers and pockets for me to be able to travel with it too.

I, too, love this jacket. It's light, warm and doesn't make you feel like you're overheating, if you're standing around. Sizing seems true to size for me. The persian red is a fuschia color-not red, not pink, but a combination of both and "happy".

HELP!!! I just bought this jacket and I really enjoy wearing it. I just had a bad fall on a patch of ice which resulted with a bad tear on my jacket do you have any suggestions how I can fix my jacket? Do you sell any patches or repair kits? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks

Recently bought this jacket based on the previous stellar reviews. I work in the industry myself and was disappointed with most women's down jacket that match the stereotype - puffy, unflattering, awkwardly sized, shiny, etc. The Venus is amazing. Fits great. Good material. Black has a sheen, but not an obnoxious shine. Very little added bulk. Fits nicely under my softshell/hardshell, packs into a tiny ball and weighs close to nothing. I bought an XS. I am 5'4", 120 lbs, long waisted, broad shouldered, A-cup. It's a little narrow in the shoulders and short in the waist, but I think that's particular to my build. Otherwise, I'd say true to size. I buy other Marmot items in XS. I can fit a hooded sweatshirt underneath. Overall, great jacket and highly recommended... it's practically snowing in SF and I couldn't feel the temperature drop! Great price for 800 down with good initial quality. Happy to wear the thing out!

OK, i was looking for a really warm jacket that didn't make me feel stuffed like a marshmallow. I was a little dubious, as this jacket is really light - but it's awesome! I am cold-blooded, and have tested it in 0 degree cold - kept me very warm - and in siedeways blowing snow - still warm! Best part, it looks light enough that I can wear it to Spring and Fall soccer games and not look like a marshmallow!
Love it!

I love this jacket... wear it daily but noticed the other day that I have a small tear and am losing down. Do you have any suggestions for repairing/patching the hole? Thank you for your time.

This is my first Marmont purchase. At the end of this winter season I found black venus jacket on sale at our local Gander Mountain store. There was only one left and in my size. I tried it on and loved the lightweight yet warm jacket. I will purchase
Marmont again

I am walking in a 5 K tomorrow and weather is predicting heavy rain in the high 40s. How wet can I get this coat? (I bought it 2 months ago and love it, worn it through all the ups and downs of cold weather.)

I purchased 2 more jackets today; one for me & the other for my mom who loves light weight and warm jacket. I bought it in black a yr ago and wore it almost everyday. This is amazingly tissue light and keeping warm air in but when you unzip it, still perfect for light cold weather, too. Besides, structure of inner arm makes movement easy and functional. I did not heard about brand Marmot, now i recognize as a quality brand (better than NF). My only wish is that they make long coat with same style. Strongly recommend!

Just purchased this jacket and it is absolutely heavenly to wear. Warm but so lightweight it is like wearing a sweater. Not bulky or cumbersome. Perfect jacket for a lot of the winters here in Boulder, CO.

The best jacket I had ever own. I thought I will always be a Patagonia person but when I bought this Venus emerald green it changed my mind. Not only the comfort and warmth I am enjoying but the price I paid for as well.
Marmot thank you for creating Venus you rock!

I would like to purchase this jacket however it is not in any of the stores locally. Where can I buy it on line for the price advertised above (175)?

All of these online retailers should have the Women's Venus Jacket in stock: http://marmot.com/products/wms_venus_jacket#buy
