Marmot MemBrain®
MemBrain® fabric balances the best performance in waterproof, breathable fabric with excellent durability.
MemBrain® reduces internal condensation while increasing comfort by reducing the chilling effect caused by condensation build-up.
When used with insulated garments or sleeping bags, MemBrain® protects the insulation from harsh weather conditions.

DriClime
DriClime® Moisture Management Technology is a family of uniquely plaited bi-component knit fabrics engineered to mechanically draw moisture away from your skin to keep you dry, warm and comfortable.
The key to DriClime is 3-Dimensional Wicking. As moisture moves from the inner fabric touching your skin to the outer fabric, it spreads out across the outer fabric to speed the drying process. DriClime never stops working; it continually passes moisture through to the outer surface for fast evaporation. It is not a finish that washes or wears out; it works forever.
DriClime technology is available in a wide range of products: shelled microclimate layers, base layer, gloves, sleeping bags and backpacks.

Got this jacket in black a few weeks ago. In Seattle, we tend to keep a lot of raincoats in our closets! The Sassy jacket is great. I love that it is a performance rain coat disguised as a classic, Euro-style jacket. I use it for work. It's more casual than a black trench but more professional than other hooded waterproof styles available. I'm 5'9" and the medium works great over day-job type clothes. The fit on the shoulders and body is good but I do wish the arms were a little bit longer.

I agree Seattle Girl. I am 5'8 and the proportions are great but the sleeves should be longer. I also have the fraying issue on my left sleeve and shoulder from the Velcro. This issue was especially disheartening after only 2 weeks. Otherwise this is an ideal choice for it's fit, weight, and trendy design. Overall, I am very happy with this jacket and wear it to work daily.

Unfortunately the velcro wears quickly at the sleeve when the jacket is worn open - so sad! My nice jacket looks rather shabby now all along one sleeve and at the neck where the collar velcro also rubs the fabric. Otherwise a great jacket: great fit, performs well in wet weather and easy to travel with. Just wish that it wasn't so scruffy-looking after one season!

I bought this jacket for my Sept. trip to Budapest and Prague. Light showers were predicted. But we encountered heavy rain for days. The jacket was great. It's a great fit and It kept me dry. My companions wore their old supposedly waterproof jackets but they were soaked and had to buy plastic rain covers. I hope it wears well for several years but I made a real investment.

I don't agree about fit...I wear a size 8 (some 6's) in clothing; or a medium. I had to buy the jacket in a large; I think it runs small.

I bought this jacket six months ago, and took it backpacking in Europe for three months. Unfortunately I left it in Italy right before I was returning home (someone now has a very nice jacket!), but I loved it so much I have bought another one, that should say something. Where most jackets I have bought that claim to be waterproof only are to a certain point, this will keep you dry when you're ouside in the rain all day long. It is also stylish enough to wear to work and not look unprofessional, but casual enough to wear on weekends. Love it, worth every penny!

I wanted a trenchcoat, but didn't think it would be very practical for me, since I prefer to dress casually most of the time. This jacket was such a great investment as the perfect alternative! I get compliments on it all the time, and I love that it's somewhat technical and doesn't look weird with sneakers, yet also looks nice with work clothes. My only complaints are the lack of pit zips and catches for the hood bungees. Fix those, and it would be a 5* item. Still, I think I'll have this for years.

I just bought this jacket because it's so stylish. But it is fitted. Generally I wear a size 8, I'm 5'5', 125Lb . This jacket is a little tight across the bust, fits great everywhere else. The large was ridiculously big on me. I tried to purchase some of the fabric (the grey plaid, granite) so I could have my seamstress alter it. Although Marmot was helpful in providing phone numbers, none of the services could sell fabric. I think this is something Marmot should consider doing for their customers in the future.
However, as I said, the jacket is great looking and can go anywhere.

I love this jacket, but I am not fond of this season's drab colors. I have the deep blue color from a previous season and would buy another Sassy jacket in a heartbeat if it came in a nice green, or other more interesting color! But these grey, brown and black colors do not tempt me. Love the robust fabric with the subtle stripe/check pattern. The style of the jacket is lovely and the mid-thigh length is great. I am 5'2" and 116 pounds and the small fits great, with room for a bit of layering. Kept me nice and dry during several heavy downpours on a recent trip to New York. More color choices, please!
