800 Fill Down

Certified 800+ Fill Goose Down bags are constructed with the following features:

  • Nautilus Hood: the same construction as our 8000m jacket hood, a 3D hood that
wraps around your head and reduces heat loss.
  • Hood Muff: creates a warm down gasket around your face, keeping the drawcord
    away from the face.
  • Stretch Tricot Baffles: allow the bag to be stuffed and unstuffed without tearing the baffle material.
  • Trapezoid Foot box: matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heels.
  • Down Fill Oversized Draft Tube: eliminates cold spots
  • Zipper guard: keeps the draft tube fabric from getting caught in the zipper
  • Ground Level Seams: top layer wraps fully around the body creating a warm layer of down.

I was in desperate need of a warm, longer coat that I could wear every day while running my young child to school and running errands. I wanted something casual but dressy and something lightweight and warm enough to keep me warm in the single digits. It's the warmest coat and so lightweight, you'd never believe it. It fits me perfectly, it's very form fitting. I wear a size 0 or 2 and I bought a size small and it fits me like a glove. I thought it was reasonably priced compared to the North Face coats. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I received a Marmot Milo Jacket as a Christmas gift this year, and I totally love it! It is so soft and warm while being very lightweight; and the form-fitting feature is so appealing. The mid-thigh length is wonderful. I don't know what price was paid for this jacket, but I would love to have another one in a different color. Just in the few times I've worn it, I cannot say enough good about it.

Milo looks like just what I need-- but when I was at the store in Berkeley, 3000 miles from home, I did not even try it on-- too purple! And I don't want to be Invisible Black like everyone else. SO close-- if it was just less purple and more navy, I would not have to be scouring the web for other hip-length quality. Thousands of coats out there, and some of the worst colors in years, alas. Maybe next year! Love your stuff in general, keep it up.

I had been looking for a Marmot down jacket for hiking and casual wear for some time, but being a bit curvier, I found that the Venus was a little snug in the hip area (in XL). However, the Milo fits great because it is a bit longer and it is a bit more stylish and feminine. Even though it is a bit longer than the Venus, it is still very light and very warm! The extra length helps keep you warmer as well. The only down side I can see is that it isn't wind proof (most down jackets aren't), so you may not want to wear it on a very windy day. Found a great deal by shopping the post-Christmas sales.
