Marmot does not recommend dry cleaning for any of our products. Gore-Tex® fabric products, MemBrain® fabric products, down insulated products, and fleece are all machine washable. You should use a commercial front loading machine and follow the care instructions.

I must admit when I purchased this jacket to go snowboarding...I did not yet know how to snowboard. Of course, the entire trip I spent my time falling, tumbling, and sliding down the slopes of the Rocky Mountain range...my gloves were torn to shreds by the end of the trip. This jacket didn't have a loose thread. It kept me warm, dry, and supplied me with a wealth of features that have spoiled me (like the stiff brim of the hood that creates a visor to keep the rain, snow, and sun off of your face). I've taken this jacket on every ski/camping trip since and five years later it's still going strong.

I just bought the Tamarack jacket for skiing this year. So far I have skied in everythign from sum to sleet and 20 mph winds. This coat has kept me dry and warm. There are a couple things that I wish Marmot would incorporate. 1. The hood is NOT big enough to cover ski helmets comfortably. The hood based Velcro tabs rip out from the collar inserts when you try to zip it up. 2. The collar is too tight when zipped up and shoudl have anoth couple inches of space between the face and the material. 3. When you zip up the collar the extra liner zipper is not covered and rubs your face raw. 4. the sleeve cuff needs 1-2 more inch of space so gloves can fit inside easily.
I would certainly recommend this coat and look to get many years of use.
