Which fleece Zippin component is compatible with the Tamarack jacket? does is matter which year?
on 11/2/10.
Thank you for your question. Only the Cauldron Jacket or the Approach Jacket are zip in compatible with the Tamarack Jacket.

Is there any other fleeces and softshell jackets that are compatible?

I'm a 6'3" 215--kind of big boned, but still barely fit the "athletic" description. Sweat alot when I ski, especially skinning. Trying to decide between Tamarack and ROM. Have never owned a good jacket--just layers and stuffy shells. Any advice?

I'm 6' 1" and 235--the Tamarack XL fits very nicely with room for zip in fleece. Just taking it out for the first time today and usually alpine skiing so more issue of getting cold on the lift unless deep powder gets me into the woods. But the pit zips should help breathing.

I hiked in this jacket for the first time a few years ago and have had it since. During the hike I was thoroughly impressed with its breatheability..While the weather was cold and snowing on the AT, I never got hot or wet from sweat, unusual for me as normally I would have to take my jacket off 30 minutes into a hike. This jacket was perfect for those conditions, and sounds like it would work well while skiing as well.

Can you tell me what rating the mens tamarack jacket is? M1, M2 or M3? I saw these ratings on the ladies jackets and am curious how the tamarack is rated.

Thank you for your question. The Tamarack Jacket is not a softshell therefore doesn't have the M1, M2 or M2 softshell rating with it. Thank you!

What is the outter fabric of the Tamarack like, say, compared to the access jacket. What's the 'hand' of the outter fabric? slick like a typical shell or softer or somewhat brushed like a softshell?

ho acquistato una tamarack jacket e ne sono molto soddisfatto per l'uso che ne faccio per trekking in montagna e sia per l' uso quotidiano. Una giacca veramente formidabile per l'outdoor con qualsiasi tempo.

does this jacket have a helmet compatible hood? and are the pockets acesible with a pack on?
thanks.
on 12/22/10.
The hood is not helmet compatible. The pockets may be accessible depending on how large the hip belt is. I wouldn't say they were built specifically to be accessible with a pack on though.

Will this jacket alone with maybe a tee underneath be able to keep me warm through below freezing temperature? Just a clarification, this is an insulated jacket right
on 1/22/11.
Cal -- This jacket is primarily a shell. I don't think it has enough insulation to keep you warm at those temperatures without an insulating layer.

Is the Tamarack jacket good for skiing in 40 degree weather or will it be to warm ? I am looking for a lightweight ski jacket for warmer weather .
