WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shells offer total windproofness and maximum breathability, combining the comfort of a soft mid-layer and the water resistance of a shell in one garment. WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shells keep you comfortable and provide the freedom of movement you need for enhanced performance in a wide range of activities and weather conditions.
Constructed of soft, quiet, stretchy fabrics, WINDSTOPPER® protects your body’s warmth from the chilling effects of wind and weather and prevents overheating and perspiration build-up by allowing moisture vapor to easily escape. The unique WINDSTOPPER® membrane totally stops wind from penetrating the fabric while allowing moisture to escape unhindered for 2X more breathability than comparable windproof products.
With this 3-layer construction, the WINDSTOPPER® membrane is bonded between a high performance fabric such as robust, high-quality stretch polyester on one side, and a quick-drying polyester fleece on the other. The durable water repellent finish offers additional weather protection.

Hi my name is Brenton Reagon, I’m a Marmot Athlete. I’m going to take you on a tour in the Teton back country in my ROM Jacket.
The Marmot ROM Jacket is a breathable soft shell. It falls into the M2 category which means it’s windproof yet highly breathable. It’s made from GORE® WINDSTOPPER® and it has breathable panels underneath your armpits so if you’re boot packing or skinning it allows you to let all the hot air out. So I don’t have to unzip too much. Also makes it lighter so I don’t have to deal with pit zips underneath my jacket. It also has a nice big storage pocket on the inside so if I need to keep my sunglasses or a Power Bar or anything else I need quickly, it’s right there and available. It also has Velcro cuffs, which keep it so that I can keep my gloves and my cuffs sealed so I can keep all the cold air out. Being a jacket that’s this light and this breathable and this windproof allows me to be faster in my transitions. The one thing I learned from skiing with Coombs was you always want to be fast in your transitions. It allows me to ski down in this jacket, throw my skis on my pack and take off before anybody else gets ahead of me.
So I’m about to hike up this ridge here behind me and the ROM Jacket is so breathable I won’t have to change jackets at all. It’ll allow me to boot pack right up to the top of the ridge without having to vent or anything. And once I get to the top of the ridge, the GORE® WINDSTOPPER® fabric will keep me from getting chilled, and I can just go ahead and just pull the hood up over my helmet and take off. I won’t miss a beat or I won’t have to slow down at all. Alright, let’s get out of here…
The wind’s really whipping up here today. They’re saying it’s below 0° wind chill, but I’m not feeling it.

Care Instructions
Marmot does not recommend dry cleaning for any of our products. Gore-Tex® fabric products, MemBrain® fabric products, down insulated products, and fleece are all machine washable. You should use a commercial front loading machine and follow the care instructions.

The ROM jacket is simply the best all around soft shell jacket that I have ever owned. This is my second, the first lasted 3 full years, and I wore it daily while guiding rock, alpine, ice, backcountry skiing, and ski mountaineering in every condition imaginable. What's so great about this jacket? Well for starters, it's very light, has WindStopper in the front and back, and venting side panels under the arms that dissipate heat without the added weight of pit zips. This allows me to move uphill very quickly without getting to hot, stop and stand in the wind without getting cold, and transition to downhill without adding extra layers. Another feature that I really like is the extra length. This jacket is long enough to stay tucked into a harness or backpack waist strap regardless of the activity. The hood is awesome. It is large enough to be worn over most helmets, but can also snug down around the face and be worn under a helmet if desired. If that's not enough, the jacket has three really well placed pockets and velcro cuff adjustments that cinch down to keep the elements out. This jacket is water resistant enough to be worn in all conditions short of rain or very very wet snow. Well done Marmot, thanks for another great product!

Last friday I went to Globetrotter shop in Koln to buy this jacket (cobalt blue/royal navy, size M). Unfortunately it was sold out even in the online shop.
Is there a possibillity the send me a Marmot Rom jacket??
