What are the inseam measurements for regular and for short leg lengths? I usually take inseam length 30" if want ground clearance or 32" if I want shoe coverage.

Hi Ed, please reference our size chart on the tab above to find your correct inseam.

What is the weight of these bibs without the knee pads? Are these also usable for mountaineering?
Thanks

just plain good, even for me who is sit-skiing.

Are these pants durable enough to withstand aggressive skiing and are they susceptible to tearing when coming into contact with snow or ice after a fall? (If they are not durable, then i wouldn't see how they are worth the price tag)

Question: Do the full length side zippers completely open or do they stop at top or bottom. The internal elastic gaiters lead me to believe I would still have to pull these out of a muddy boot or crampons, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

I have had a Marmot Randonnee bib style pant since the late 90s. Its finally gotten time for me to get a new one since I've gotten a bit bigger around the mid section, my fault not the pant. Other than the black fading somewhat, these things were bombproof and lasted me 6 seasons out of 8 on the National Ski Patrol (2 resorts in Utah and I've become alumni in NSP so this is not an official endorsement). These things kept me dry, the knee pads were fantastic when kneeling working on patients on hardpack, the bib style was perfect for keeping snow out and warmth in. The fabric kept the water / wet snow out as well as wind. On those nasty days when the seats on the lifts were soaked and when winds would chill you to the bone these pants came through for me when other patrollers suffered due to lower quality gear. I have nothing but good memories and experience with this product. Thanks Marmot! Someone had rumored to me that this product had been discontinued and I couldn't imagine it... Its good to see that wasn't true.

These Pants are an excellent product for in bounds and back-country Use. The face fabric is light and supple but very Tear resistant. The fit is great and the pads in the knees are very helpful for snow camping.
