UPF 50
Clothing can protect you from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. It all depends on the fiber content, weave, weight of fabric and color.
So what’s the difference between UPF and SPF?
SPF stands for the Sun Protection Factor, most commonly associated with sunscreen. This measures the amount of time it takes for skin to burn.
UPF on the other hand stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, which is a measure of the amount of UV radiation that penetrates a fabric and reaches your skin. For example, a fabric rated with a UPF of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. So the fabric would significantly reduce your exposure to UV rays, (where it covers your body)!
Dark colors and tight weaves will have higher UPF ratings. As well, nylons and polyesters are better than plain cotton because they reflect radiation.

At long last! A jean that is comfortable and stylish. No cheesy fancy pants with over decorated pockets. Out of all the many pairs of jeans in my closet, my wife picked these to go out to a semi-dressed up affair. Little does she know that when we got home, I didn't need to change out of them to walk the dog.
Day to day use, taking care of two kids, crouching down, bending over, playing at the playground, takin a nap, running around, riding a bike, etc, they move with my body and there is no need to check my crack cuz they stay in place. These pants are the pants I wear when I don't want to think about the pants I'm wearing.

Marmot hit it out of the park with their jeans. I have been wearing my Pipelines as my go-to pants in all of my travels, probably average two or three days a week in them. I have been most impressed with the durability and versatility of these pants. I live in Nepal and I've hiked for weeks in them, tossed them in the wash, and worn them to meetings with diplomats the next day. As I said, I've been wearing these pants constantly and they've lasted twice as long as my other jeans. I'll never wear cotton jeans again. My only comment is that they are SO HARD TO GET! I would own five pair if I could. Ramp up the production, Marmot!
