GORE-TEX® Paclite®
The lightest, most packable outerwear available, GORE-TEX® PacLite® garments are durably waterproof, windproof and breathable and are built for activities when weight and space are critical, but protection is still important.
The face fabric is constructed of high-performance polyester or nylon and on the inside GORE-TEX® Paclite® Shells use a specific GORE-TEX® membrane with a protective layer made of an oil-hating substance and carbon. So no separate lining is required. This makes GORE-TEX® Paclite® shells lighter and smaller to pack away.
Special Gore-Seam® tape technology ensures all seams are 100% waterproof.
GORE-TEX® PacLite® Shells are great for trekking, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, cycling, hunting, fishing, golfing and water sports.

Has the quality construction and features I expect from Marmot. Overall very satisfied. BUT seems to retain more body heat than I'd expect or want from a fabric this light.

Product is very good for price. I wear this minimalist jacket on the trail and during rainy days. Few days ago, a little plastic part missed. So I send them an email. And I got the new parts just after 3 days by fedex. Excellent service.

This is a very fine packable rain jacket. The hood adjustments work well with or without a hat. It stays in place once correctly fitted to your head......none of that slide over your eyes when you turn your head just right. It has a firm and articulated brim to keep the rain off of your face too. Given the fact that the outer skin of GORE-TEX Paclite can be found in other high end brands, it comes down to fit and features. I like the fulll pit-zips and the manner in which the the cuffs can be secured also. This coat also can be packed in its left side pocket.

Great jacket. The hood's fit is a standout feature. I also like the fact jacket can be packed neatly in it's left side pocket. Full pit-zips make venting body heat in the rain as easy as it's going to get. all seams and stiching are first rate. Wife liked it so much that I was shamed into buying one for her.

Great jacket for the money. Some things to note about this jacket that are good:
1) The main zipper has a flap and then underneath the flap is another flap that has a piece of vertical fabric running vertically all the way up/down the seam. This is huge. Water resistent zippers (regardless of the brand) are not waterproof.
2) The pockets are waterproofed from the inside of the jacket with taped seams and goretex. You could fill your pockets with water and you would not get wet. This is huge.
3) The seams on the jacket are minimal. This makes the jacket more breathable.
If you want a solid jacket that will keep you completely dry and that is plenty breathable when the temps are below 70 degrees (no goretex jacket breaths well above 70 degrees), this is the best on the market for the money.

Best goretex jacket for the money in my opinion. Have used it in 60 degree weather during series thunderstorms with 50 plus winds and hail. Top notch and minimal seams, nice brim, pretty good fit. I scraped three other more expensive non Marmot jackets before being satisfied with this one. Then, I bought my wife one and the minimalist pants. Great job Marmot!
