Limestone 6P Set-Up Instructions
How to set up your Marmot® Limestone 6P
Select a flat, level and protected site free from sharp rocks, twigs or other objects that could puncture the floor of your tent. Avoid pitching your tent in a low spot where water may collect if it rains.
Setting up the Tent Body
- Spread the tent out floor side down and loosely stake out the 4 corners of the main tent body using the stake loops. Locate the pole sleeves, which cross in the middle of the tent body.
- Carefully unfold all poles and begin assembling. Make sure all sections are fully joined together. Your pole system is connected with the shock cord system for easy assembly.
- The Limestone 6P has 4 poles. There are 2 long poles, which are identical and symmetrical. There are 2 shorter poles, which are also identical and symmetrical. The shorter poles are the “brow” poles.
- Thread one of the long poles through one of the pole sleeves. Repeat with the second long pole and other pole sleeve. Once inserted, the poles will make a large X shape, crossing in the middle of the tent. Poles should follow the seams of the tent, and the tips should be directed toward the corners.
- Insert 2 pole tips, one at a time, on one side of the tent into the grommets. Repeat with the pole tips on the opposite side of the tent body.
- With all 4 tips in their respective grommets, the poles will be erect. Connect clips on the tent body to the corresponding pole. The color of the clip webbing will match the color of the pole.
- Locate the pole pockets above the tent doors. Place the brow poles over the 2 main poles. Insert the tips of the brow poles into the pole pockets. The 2 brow poles should be parallel to each other. Once both tips of the brow pole are inserted into the pole pockets, connect the clips on the tent body to the brow pole.
- If needed, reposition the tent stakes to pull the floor of the tent body taut.
Attaching the Flysheet
- Unfold the flysheet and identify the inside of the fly. The inside is coated and seam tape is visible.
- Locate the 2 red tabs on the fly and the 2 red tabs at the stakeout points on the tent body. Align the 2 sets of red tabs, connect the buckle at one of the red tabs to keep the fly correctly positioned, and drape the flysheet over the tent body with the inside facing down.
- The seams of the fly should closely align with the tent poles.
- Locate the reflective guy-line tabs along the seams of the fly. There is Velcro under the tabs that will securely attach the fly to the tent pole structure.
- If necessary, loosen the webbing at the 4 buckles to connect the fly to the tent body.
- Once the 4 buckles are attached, tighten the webbing at the corners until the fly is taut.
- Be sure the fly door is zipped closed before you stake out the vestibule. Use the large loops to stake out the vestibule. Use the adjustable webbing to tighten or release the tension.
Attaching the Doormat
- Unfold the doormat and place it on the ground with the coated side facing up. The doormat occupies the area that is covered by the tent’s vestibule. The doormat is shaped like a trapezoid. Place the longest side of the trapezoid against the tent body in front of one of the doors.
- Lift one corner of the tent, and attach the doormat’s grommet to the pole tip from the underside of the tent body. Repeat with the other corner. Both grommets on the longest side of the doormat should be attached to the tent body.
- Be sure the fly door is zipped closed before you stake out the vestibule with the doormat.
- Pulling the doormat taut, stake out the vestibule using both the loop on the vestibule and the loop on the doormat. Repeat with the other corner of the doormat and the other stake loop on the vestibule.
- Use the adjustable webbing to tighten or release the tension.

The Limestone 6p tent is a great place to sleep with your entire family. Having two separate doors provides easy access to both sides of the tent and gives you an alternate entrance/exit in windy weather. The non-snag zippers make it very easy for the kids to unzip both doors. Set up is VERY easy and takes about four minutes. My three-year-old daughter helped me clip the tent to the poles. Being able to stand up fully (5' 9" adult male) makes the camping experience much better than other smaller tents I've used in the past. There are many places to store camping items in the tent too. We had flashlights, glasses, water bottles, iPhones and iPads in the pocket with room left over for more.
The Limestone 6p is the best tent available for families in my opinion. The price is right and the size is HUGE. One note, this tent is not heavy but certainly not the best choice for hikers or backpackers.

A quality tent. My family was looking for tent that allowed quick weekend getaways without having to take a giant tent which filled the car boot or required a trailer. This tent fits the requirement perfectly for our growing family of 4.
Set up was quick with 1 person and a 2 yr old who wasn't much help. The groundsheet, tent and fly integrate very easily. Love the integrated fly/taffeta tent wall. No longer need to listen to endless zippers as people escape for late night toilet trips. I'm 6'2'' and could stand up straight. The 'brow' poles do a great job in creating a lot of space inside. Vestibules are on the small side so we will probably use one for kitchen storage and the other for entry/shoes. Two vestibules is probably why I choose this tent over the Halo 6P.
So far its only made it up in the backyard so can't comment on waterproofing. Love the funky orange and will easily be the most stylish tent in the campground.
5 Stars if tent supplied with better/more guide ropes or if it holds up to the rain when tested.
Imported this to Australia based on Marmut reviews and company profile. No tent is like it over here and I'm very happy with purchase after first impressions.

I agree with Ryan.
Our family wanted a tent that wasn't as big as house so it could fit in campground spaces that National Parks provide, and not require a trailer to carry or several people to set up.
I set the tent up myself while a 2yr old played inside. The groundsheet, tent and fly integrate very well. The 'brow' poles give heaps of space inside. Love the integrated taffeta/fly. No longer need to listen to a cacophony of zippers as people escape for the toilet. No rain yet to test waterproofing.
Vestibules on small side so will use one for entry/shoes and the other for storage. Supplied guide ropes limited in number and need to be made up.
I imported this tent into Australia based on Marmut product reviews and company details. Looks like a good decision as tent is quality and nothing over here competes with it. It will be the most stylish tent in the campground!

Tent sets up easily, had the help of a 7-year old and 4-year old. Very well designed and love how easy it is to push the poles in the sleeves. There is plenty of room for a family of four and a dog. Vestibules are large and provide lots of extra space if needed. Just wish there was an additional floor mat for the other vestibule.

This tent rocks! It survived greatly to the winds and rain of Irene's passage in Quebec. Not a single drop nor a detachement of the clips during an awfull night and we didn't even have a tarp over it (it would have been blown away anyhow!) I recommand it and it's quite easy to assemble. Very good product, my camping friend was just amazed and will surely buy one, since it passed the biggest test ever! Have fun camping!

Good tent, easy to assemble, survived the Irene Hurracan, wind and heavy rain 12hours straight without a single drop in the tent or incident!

This tent was fabulous! I am a 5'5" 52 year old woman who is not in the best of shape and was able to get this up myself. It wasn't hard to figure out but for my fitness level it took effort to put up due to it's size.
It rained quite hard and I didn't get a drop of rain. Inside was huge-it was like having my own cabin. I could stand up and stretch!
I chose the bright pumpkin which turned out great having been stuck in the tent due to tons of rain. The bright color kept my mood up.
I would highly recommend this tent for anyone car camping due to it's weight. Excellent for a family. A relatively not so fit couple could get this tent up in a jiffy.

Love it. Bought it because I was impressed by my limelight 3, and the kids are getting bigger. First trip out we had major thunderstorms. The structural integrity was great with no leaning, and we remained bone dry. Love the quality.

I got the Hatch/ Dark Cedar green Limestone 6P cause I like to roll stealth. Works as advertised, plenty roomy enough for 4 cots and cook stove and table in the vestibule.Absolutely no condensation inside after low teen's night which is not really a big test, but moisture is discomfort in anybodies book. With a fly that goes all the way to the ground on the sides you can seal this puppy up fairly tight and the vents provide more than enough ventilation.

Very well made tent. The materials are extremely high quality, durable, and weatherproof. Being waterproof and windproof, it's the warmest tent I've ever slept in, but yet it is also breathable in warmer weather.
My only complaint is the size. It's marketed as a 6 person tent, but realistically, it's only comfortable with 4 people. 6 is doable, but not comfortably. I just wish they made it a little bit bigger.

If you were familiar with tent sizes you would have known that a six-person tent will only comfortably accomodate three or four people, with some gear. That includes all 6-sized tents, including Marmot's! I know, it is just hyperbole but that is the way it is. This is a standard sized 6, some a little smaller and some a little bigger. But with the brow poles set up horizontally there is actually a little more head room than average.
This Marmot LimeStone 6P, and it's festive orange color, is one of the "top-of-the line" for family or base camp tents.
I am very impressed with the comments about Hurricane Irene and how this tent made it through that mess. Could it have been the DAC PressFit aluminum poles - because there are really only the two poles to give it stability? These poles are an upgrade of the DAC 17. I had another tent that while it came through a 30 - 35 mph storm the DAC 17 poles were a mess and one of the reasons why I chose this tent.

Best tent every owned!! Well made. So much room with two vestibules. Quality thru out! One person can set it up but the fly would be easier with two people.
Bought this for motorcycle camping and yes it's very large for two people but we carry alot of gear with us. I'm 6'2" and can stand up with no problem!
Camped in a monsoon of a rain storm for three days and NOT a drop of water inside!!! Friends near by were swimming with water in there tents!

The Limestone 6P is my family’s first tent purchase and I could not be happier or even somewhat positively surprised so far.
I just set everything up for the first time after reading the directions and watching the video twice. It really only takes 10-15 minutes, maybe even a little less and you have shelter.
I decided on this tent over many others due to the reviews of other customers, Marmots reputation and the size offered. My first impressions are the poles are well made and should last and the material of the tent appears thick enough over others I looked at in person.
If you have a family of 4 or more and are not backpacking I would recommend that you consider buying the largest tent you can afford due that unfortunately the sizing on tents I found available in this size are not liberal on space and after you have your gear and occupants all in side you will run out of room quickly….No one like a foot in the face while sleeping or tripping over each other. :-\. MARMOT! Same style and foot print but 8P…..8P
I would bet like me others would rather have the extra space even if believing it would probably not be needed initially but having it available just in case. :-)
My only other thought is after purchasing your tent is consider buying the foot print sized to protect your tent floor, extra stakes (just in case) and have extra 550 chord for the tie offs.
Did I mention we really like this tent!!!!
A Great first impression Marmot.
Thank you.
