Is this tent waterproof? I would assume so but see it nowhere in the description.

the "PU 5000mm" is the hydrostatic rating. This determines how waterproof a particular tent is.

Uh, judging by this description, "Fly and floor have exceptional hydrostatic ratings to deliver a cozy, dry interior, even during catastrophic downpours," I would say yes.

No, the sleeping area has two walls but the porch area has only single thickness, like the Vango Tempest, eventhough it is not that waterproof (the tempest not the grid)

is this tent single wall?

No, it's an inner tent and fly sheet.
It pitches outer first, which means you can pitch the fly sheet on it's own and then hang the inner later, or use it without the inner as a shelter.
Alternatively when packed away the inner can be left attached to the fly so that when you pitch later it will pitch 'as one' saving time.

goes without saying...
"Our finest waterproofing technologies and a European design ethic come together to create this impenetrable portable fortress—ideal for backcountry exploring in rough conditions."

How does the Dark Cedar/Hatch colour look from the inside? I'd imagine it's pretty dark (even if it's not a miserable Scottish summer) and kinda weird looking in the morning sun?

Would think the Dark Cedar/Hatch color would be "drab" we still have the Marmot NYX (Orange color)and it's always been bright, even in down pours. And we have never had any trouble with our Marmot.

It's orange, and looks very nice. The shade is really good, not too bright or dark.

Fantastic tent. One star removed as it could be lighter, but it's bombproof and exceptionally well featured. Outer first/all in one set up is fantastic too.

This has been my first tent for use in the UK Mountains very easy and quick to set up. The fact that everything is already connected (inner, outer and footprint) and all you have to do is put a few poles in makes a massive difference in bad weather. Whilst others are still messing around I’m in my tent all snug:-) Also very stable in strong wind. Only minus I would say is that you get allot of condensation under your sleeping mat but other than that it’s awesome. Will only use Marmot tents due to their ease of set up and quality. My only gripe is why the majority of the tents have to be bright yellow!

BOMBPROOF!
Have lived out of this tent for a month during my latest trip, it performed excellently all the way. It has survived gale force winds (one night gusts were hitting 29m/s), this despite an almost complete change in wind direction and placement in a totally unprotected area. The storm-pitch is excellent, during one pitching it started pouring down and blowing (sudden change in mountain weather)and i managed to complete setting it up despite it being dark, and still have a dry place to sleep all night even though as i realized the next morning not all the lines were fastened and some were loose. The reflective details where the lines are mounted make the tent really easy to find in the dark, even in the forest. The color (mine was Dark Cedar/Hatch) blends in nicely with nature while the bright orange inside makes one feel warm and cozy even in cloudy and miserable weather.
The only potential problem i can imagine is snow on the rather flat top. Also condensation was a problem when the tent was pitched a couple of days in a very protected area without any air movement, but i don't think any tent would manage better considering the cold humid air. Also, its only two person if its two light packers, with a lot of gear its just the right size for solo (and I'm not a large person).
Hopefully it will perform just as well in the future, despite my careless storage the past few weeks which resulted in a lot of mold that had to be cleaned off (irony is i told some high-schoolers i met towards the end of my trip to make sure they dry their tents before storage, and then i do this stupid noob mistake).
I recommend the footprint to go with this tent, it adds alot of versatility to ones pack, used it even alone as a temporary shelter.
Marmot! PLEASE never stop making this tent, its a classic, and everyone i met with one loves it just as much! I'll buy another as soon as i have the budget.

The Grid 2 is awesome!!! Would get it again or the Grid Plus for more room. I like the green for Stealth Camping.
