Certified 850+ Fill Goose Down bags are constructed with the following features:

  • Nautilus Hood: the same construction as our 8000m jacket hood, a 3D hood that wraps around your head and reduces heat loss.
  • Hood Muff: creates a warm down gasket around your face, keeping the drawcord away from the face.
  • Stretch Tricot Baffles: allow the bag to be stuffed and unstuffed without tearing the baffle material.
  • Trapezoid Foot box: matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heels.
  • Down Fill Oversized Draft Tube: eliminates cold spots
  • Zipper guard: keeps the draft tube fabric from getting caught in the zipper
  • Ground Level Seams: top layer wraps fully around the body creating a warm layer of down.

Will you be getting more of size x-large for the dawson parka in colors black, fatigue, and blue?

What about temperature range at which Dawson parke can be used to feel comfortable?

I've been wearing mine for about a week in NY. The air is very thick here and chills to the bone. I'd say anything under 45 degrees and you can wear it with moderate activity like walking at a moderate pace on level ground without getting too hot. Over 45 is probably too hot. I'm making a guess here, but I'd say it'll make it down to about zero degrees F at that same level of activity and it's all zipped up and velcroed closed, with a base layer and maybe a light insulation layer. (If you're exerting yourself like hiking up a mountain, it'd no doubt work in quite a bit colder weather. It's bomber. I walked around for a few hours today as the snow turned into sleet and back to snow. My legs froze (jeans) but my upper body was so warm that I could have stayed outside indefinitely even if the wind kicked up. Nothing is going to make it through the jacket. I'm digging it....this winter is going to be much more tolerable.

When and where will the Dawson Parka be available in XL in the Faigue color ?

This jacket is the real deal and the only coat you'll need to get through winter. I live in Chicago and nothing bothers me when I'm in this thing.

It's breathable enough to wear when it's in the 30's and warm enough to handle sub-zero temperatures. The external material is very durable and made to last. Order a size down as the small was perfect for me when I'm normally a medium.

Also, you can take off the hood, take off the fur thing, or wear it all so you have 3 options. Pockets in this jacket aren't a problem either as you have plenty and they're big enough to serve as a day pack.

The only disadvantage about this jacket is trying to get your hands on one. It seems to be sold out every where I looked!

Don't worry about the price. This coat is totally worth it!

This is truly the finest cold weather coat I've ever owned. Extremely proof against wind and cold, and provided with more than enough interior pockets, the Dawson is the epitome of practicality. My only complaint is that isn't offered in a sufficient selection of colors. I recommend that Marmot offer a dark or medium red and a navy blue. Why Marmot restricts its offering to three rather drab colors is a mystery to me. That said, I recommend this to anyone requiring protection form extreme cold.

Great Jacket, got it on sale at Macy's. Will get me through these cold NYC winters :D

Purchased this jacket at a local NYC store, and I love this jacket. Keeps me warm, I am 5'10 208Lbs and I am using the medium size in this jacket. I'm thinking that Medium might be a big as well. Not sure, gotta try the small. LOL. The black does not look black, I would say Navy blue. I recommend picking this coat up :D

Great jacket, light weight unlike my North Face parka. The black version of this coat looks blue, not black. Great against these cold NYC winters. Highly recommend getting one :D

Hello,

Is there an equivalent to the dawson parka for women? It is exactly what I want in a jacket, but the mens sizes are all much too large.

Very warm, light and durable lots of pockets and the fur zips off the hood, and the hood zips off also.

I can't tell you how the other jackets stack up, but I think this is my ray of sunshine in our brutal Canadian winters.

Do any of your parkas have interior strom cuffs?

u really need to get this dude!!!!

I would imagine this coat is suitable for extremely cold climates/conditions,have not bought it as of yet, but its own my list of gifts to myself. If the coat lives up to the specs then it should be the last winter coat I ever buy, so i hope that Marmot has one in my size and color.

After looking into all other options I purchased a Dawson Parka over the holidays. I found that it was the best buy for the money. I have not felt the slightest chill wearing it and I find the hood design to be terrific against freezing strong winds. The coat is lightwieght and breaths very well so you don't get too hot. I was looking for a warm coat to walk the dog in. It was a huge hassle to layer up to try to keep warm. Now I can wear the Dawson without having to put a sweater on underneath. I highly recomend it.
