850 Fill Down
Certified 850+ Fill Goose Down bags are constructed with the following features:
- Nautilus Hood: the same construction as our 8000m jacket hood, a 3D hood that wraps around your head and reduces heat loss.
- Hood Muff: creates a warm down gasket around your face, keeping the drawcord away from the face.
- Stretch Tricot Baffles: allow the bag to be stuffed and unstuffed without tearing the baffle material.
- Trapezoid Foot box: matches the shape of your feet, wider in the toe area and narrower in the heels.
- Down Fill Oversized Draft Tube: eliminates cold spots
- Zipper guard: keeps the draft tube fabric from getting caught in the zipper
- Ground Level Seams: top layer wraps fully around the body creating a warm layer of down.

The Dawson Parka

A breathable down jacket. Though the 700 Fill Goose Down offers constant warmth, the Polyester interior lining allows air to effectively travel throughout the parka, thus keeping you cool. Pockets are located on both the interior and exterior of the Dawson, making it easier to separate the energy bars from the hand warmers. Season passes can be stored and easily scanned while located in the zippered sleeve pocket. Consisting of a 2 Layer Waterproof MemBrain exterior, this parka maintains dry during pow days where other jackets would normally leave you soaked. In essence, whether your playing in a foot of fresh or hitting urban amongst subzero weather, the Dawson will keep you warm.
There is really only one thing that I can’t stand when skiing and that’s being uncomfortable. When I wear the Dawson, I’m comfortable. Most of my season consists of traveling around in cold cities to film movie segments, so a normal jacket would not suffice. With the 700 Fill Goose Down material used in the Dawson, I don’t have to worry about hitting urban features long throughout the night when the temperature drops.

I would imagine this coat is suitable for extremely cold climates/conditions,have not bought it as of yet, but its own my list of gifts to myself. If the coat lives up to the specs then it should be the last winter coat I ever buy, so i hope that Marmot has one in my size and color.

After looking into all other options I purchased a Dawson Parka over the holidays. I found that it was the best buy for the money. I have not felt the slightest chill wearing it and I find the hood design to be terrific against freezing strong winds. The coat is lightwieght and breaths very well so you don't get too hot. I was looking for a warm coat to walk the dog in. It was a huge hassle to layer up to try to keep warm. Now I can wear the Dawson without having to put a sweater on underneath. I highly recomend it.
