Climbing December 2009 Baffin Jacket
Thermo Light
OK, the closest I’ve been to Baffin Island was a trans-Atlantic flyover, but that doesn’t mean I like being cold in the mountains here, in Colorado…or anywhere. Part of the company’s autumn line, the Marmot Baffin Jacket has become a trusted, smooth-moving winter companion. It’s light, thanks to 15-denier shell fabric; and is down-fill warm, courtesy of the water-resistant Primaloft® Sport insulation. Other niceties: zippered Napoleon hand pockets, reflective logos, elastic cuffs, and an interior draw-cord hem. A killer middle or outer layer, the Baffin rolls into a footlong-sub-sized bundle for easy packing. - MS
Backcountry 12/09 Baffin Jacket
Synthetic Primaloft Sport insulates well even when soaking wet, and keeps the toasty warm Baffin in the featherweight class. Exterior hand and napolean pockets are handy, and the high sheen finish repels moderate precipitation.

Aw...c'mon......make it with a hood, OK? That would be perfect for a bivy on the Frendo Spur! Thanks for all your great gear.

If you want this jacket with a hood, take a look at the Marmot Ellsworth jacket.

Just got this jacket in the mail. I am very impressed by the look and feel of it. I have yet to take this with me on my 30day backpacking trip, but I suspect nothing but positive results from this jacket. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone who wants an outer-layer that is light weight, warm, compressible, and breathable. I will post my results after my trip, to see if this holds true.

This jacket is a great insulation and wind breaking layer. I bought it to replace a fleece. It is lighter, warmer and more compact. I wore it in a snow storm with a shell and long underwear top, and it is super warm. It compresses to the size of two fists, and holds off a bit of drizzle. I have only worn it five days on trial, so I cannot speak to its durability, but it has held up so far. Overall, this jacket has been great.
