Reviews and comments

This is the bomb!

I bought this jacket after an age of research looking at many different types of down jackets.

When i purchased this ama dablam jacket, my first impressions were that it was increadibly light " you dont know your wearing it" !!!! also this jacket contains some of the best quality down on the market, 800 fill which is increadibly warm for the amount of fill they put in the jacket.

Since the purchase, i have used it in many quality mountain days in snowdonia, lake district and scotland, involving temperatures as low as -28 degress C Including wind chill, and this jacket surved well in these conditions.

For people wondering if this jacket is "waterproof" then the answer is no, There are not many down jackets that are waterproof to be honest, but dont let this turn you away from choosing this jacket as it will hold up in dense hill fog, snow and light rain, but lets be honest when the weather starts to turn very bad and the rain becomes heavy, dont say you wont put a waterproof on !!!

overall this is a superb jacket and from my experiences in this jacket, i would snatch this jacket while you can, perfect for your winter kit rack.

I got one of these recently as a travel jacket after checking out A LOT of options. I like the length of the jacket and its trim fit but with good warmth. Its an attractive jacket but without screaming for too much attention, so it fits my travel style very well.

I am using a Marmot Precip as an outer shell with this jacket for rainy days and that works well as a combination. It is indeed very light weight and the fabric does feel silky to the touch.

I use it with a bike messenger bag and have had no problems thus far with the fabric but I personally would not wear it into a path through thorn bushes and expect a happy ending. Haven't worn it yet below about 28 degrees F but would like to pair it with a mid layer underneath and see how chilly I can go. So far I am very satisfied with my choice.

This jacket is great.
I've been comparing it to other brands and finally I bought the Ama Dablam.

The only thing I complain about is that it doesn't have a small bag to keep it and protect it if you want to carry it inside the luggage or the backpack while you are hiking or something similar

Just bought one. Very nice.

But can you advise :- is there a suggested method for getting the jacket into the stuff pocket
