WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shells keep you comfortable and provide the freedom of movement you need for enhanced performance in a wide range of activities and weather conditions.
Constructed of soft, quiet, stretchy fabrics, WINDSTOPPER® protects your body’s warmth from the chilling effects of wind and weather and prevents overheating and perspiration build-up by allowing moisture vapor to easily escape. The unique WINDSTOPPER® membrane totally stops wind from penetrating the fabric while allowing moisture to escape unhindered for 2X more breathability than comparable windproof products.
With this 3-layer construction, the WINDSTOPPER® membrane is bonded between a high performance fabric such as robust, high-quality stretch polyester on one side, and a quick-drying polyester fleece on the other. The durable water repellent finish offers additional weather protection.

Outstanding jacket, has more room in the arms and upper body than the gravity jacket and similar Mountain Hardware jackets I had tried on. The Wind Stopper material is great. Big Fan.

The Afterburner is one of the finest, if not the best, wind blocking fleece jackets on the market bar none - functionality, fit, style and features. The one exception is the neck is HUGE and there isn't a cinch to snug it up. This makes it uncomfortable baggy in the neck, and it allows the elements easy access inside the jacket. Hopefully Marmot will fix this in future versions of this otherwise perfect jacket.

This was my first marmot piece and I absolutely fell in love with it and with marmot gear.
As they have already stated: the Afterburner is one of the finest windproof fleece jackets out there.
The fit, the style, functionality and durability are amazing.
I personally use it while rock climbing, alpine climbing, hiking and to hang out around town.
Also I agree with the comment about the neck. What I do is zip it almost all the way up and wear a buff (combi) to protect my neck.
Marmot please move the handwarmer pockets a bit upwards to make it more comfortable to use while wearing a harness.

Does the afterburner have pit zips? I have one I don't know if it's an afterburner, it has pit zips and I need to replace it. I can't seem to find it in Vancouver no one here sells the full line. Who sells the jacket in Vancouver BC or Whistler?
Marmot products I have found to be the best. I have 3 pairs of Ultimate gloves one has failed.
