Wm's Ether DriClime Jacket Reviewed by Marmot Athlete Heather Paul

For the last 16 years, the original DriClime Windshirt has been a piece that I never leave home without. Whether I am touring or skiing the resort, trail running, hiking or just running around in my crazy life, the DriClime always works. As if the original was not good enough…only one thing could make it better and that is a hood. Now, the piece has everything I am looking for in a high-energy, breathable piece. It is now perfect for those days when the wind kicks up and instead of scrambling for my hat and buff, I can simply pull up the hood and keep going. I have tested the Ether ski touring in the fjords of Norway where it kept me dry and warm on the way down and was the perfect uphill layer in terms of breathe-ability and comfort. I would get sweaty on the way up and if I removed the Ether, I could put it on at the top and not only did it provide protection from the wind but it also quickly wicked the moisture from my base layers, I was dry in no time. On the Grand Traverse it was used as a mid layer that kept me dry for 13 hours. It is light and packs down so small that I never see a reason to leave it at home. The simple pocket features allow easy access for use with a pack and the soft DriClime fabric fully lines the garment, (which feels as soft as a fleece jacket). The hood is not lined so it does not get caught on hair accessories, hats or glasses. The elastic closures on the wrist are simple and work well with all gloves. If you don’t already have one, you need one, trust me!
