ActiveGearReview.com reviews the Women's DriClime Catalyst Jacket

The DriClime® Catalyst Windshirt won its’ third Backpacker’s Editor’s Choice Award in 2008. This time, the DriClime Catalyst Windshirt won the “Green Award” due to its’ incorporation of recycled materials into the jacket; UpCycle fabric is made from recycled plastic and makes up 100% of the Catalyst lining, while recycled polyester makes up the outer shell. The DriClime Catalyst Windshirt is not only an excellent example of “going green”, but continues to provide outstanding performance that you come to expect from Marmot’s DriClime technology. DriClime is the ultimate moisture management system; due to its 3 D wicking system that has been in use sine 1993. We tested this top on a hike and all the other hikers were constantly changing layers, adding and removing depending on the change in the conditions; we kept the Catalyst on the entire time, during high intensity inclines and when the wind started to chill the air, we were comfortable the entire hike. The Catalyst also has stretch side panels and Angel-Wing Movement, which combine to provide full ROM and mobility while scrambling up a pitch or skree field. The Catalyst is windproof and has a neck and bottom draw cords that cinch to keep out a cool draft. The Catalyst is a bomber jacket for high intensity cold weather excursions due to its’ moisture management, but can also be a great layering jacket worn under a hard or soft shell come wintertime. We are excited to add the DriClime Catalyst Windshirt to our “Keeper” collection. For more information, please visit Marmot.com.
