Sean Swarner became the first cancer survivor to reach the highest point on each continent by summiting Denali/Mt. McKinley in Alaska on June 19, 2007. He began this journey in May of 2002 successfully reaching the summit of Mt. Everest and in just five years he has reached every other peak of the Seven Summits including Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Elbrus, Mount Aconcagua, Mount Kosciusko, Mount Vinson and now, Denali. Determined to complete his quest, Swarner started his ascent of Denali on May 1st and had to turn back twice due to bad weather finally reaching the summit in his third attempt.

A two-time cancer survivor, Swarner founded the Cancer Climber Association (CCA) which serves to motivate those touched by cancer by inspiring each other.
