Polartec® Power Stretch®

Polartec® Power Stretch® fabrics feature body-hugging 4-way stretch and are very breathable. They are very versatile, keep you dry when you sweat and provide warmth without weight. Many of the fabrics feature a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces: the durable nylon outer layer is wind- and abrasion-resistant; the soft inner layer pulls moisture away from your skin keeping you dry, warm and comfortable. Other fabrics in the series feature compression stretch which can improve performance and reduces the chance of certain types of stop-go injuries. All the fabrics excel at handling the demands of the next-to-skin environment.

Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec® Power Stretch® keeps the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms:
1) The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.
2) "Touch Points" on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric, where it spreads rapidly for evaporation.
3) When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.

Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabrics are the most visually dynamic and technically advanced of the Polartec® insulation fabrics. Available in a variety of unique surface textures and patterns, many designed to enhance performance, Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabrics are great styling options for virtually every end use. New high loft versions achieve the highest warmth to weight ratios of any fabric Polartec® has ever offered. Other versions have the look of traditional wool with all the performance benefits of fleece.

The 100% polyester velour, pebbled, or shearling surfaces create air pockets that trap air and retain body heat, providing outstanding warmth without weight. These fabrics offer excellent breathability and dry quickly. Many styles are also available with a water repellent finish that sheds rain and snow.

Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabrics are available in a wide range of weights and styles, to provide the right level of insulation and most unique-looking fabrics for most outdoor activities. These fabrics represent the state of the art in fleece fabrics.
