Skier, Canada’s Ski Magazine Early Winter 2008 Vol 7, Issue 3 La Grave Jacket

What’s New and Hot This Season
There’s Gore-Tex, and then there’s Gore-Tex Pro, a premium-blend triple-layer fabric found on Marmot’s La Grave jacket. Designed in conjunction with Marmot-sponsored skiers based in La Grave, this jacket combines a sleek look with stellar performance. Gore-Tex Pro is used in places prone to getting wet (shoulders, body), while a stretchier soft-shell fabric is placed in areas where mobility is paramount. A thin fleece layer inside the shoulders, neck and arm cuffs provides greater comfort in vulnerable contact spots.
The coolest aspect of the La Grave is its retro ‘70s-inspired stripes and piping across the shoulders and arms, and its body-hugging fit. This is a well-engineered, fashion-forward jacket that won’t confuse people into thinking you’re climbing Mount Everest – but you could, if you wanted. Other features include a convenient zip-off, roll-up hood, pit zips for added ventilation, zippered chest pockets, a sleeve pocket, sunglasses pocket, goggle-stash pocket and Recco avalanche reflectors. - by Steven Threndyle
