What is the Marmot Warranty?

We warrant every product we make to be free of manufacturer defects. A few common examples of items that are typically covered are:

  • Broken/sticky zippers
  • Velcro issues
  • Elastic hem cord issues/broken toggles

Normal wear and tear, modifications, alterations, negligence, damage and use for a purpose other than for which it was designed, are not covered by the Marmot Warranty.

Where do I send my gear back for repair?

Before sending your gear to our Warranty team, visit www.warranty.marmot.com to submit a claim or repair order.

Can I order replacement parts (buckles, pole parts, zipper pulls, etc.) through Marmot?

Certainly! Marmot’s Warranty department carries an assortment of parts and pieces for replacement. To find out what we have in stock, please give us a call at (888) 311-2900, Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 5:00pm (PST).

Why won't my Zippin work?

Over time our zipper manufacturer has redesigned their process and the old season zippers don't fit the newer season product. If you are planning on buying a liner at your local retailer be sure to take your jacket along to make sure the zipper sliders work together. We are also happy to change zippers through our Warranty Department.

How do I roll my hood into a collar?

To roll your hood into a collar, take the visor portion of the hood and fold it under itself forming a collar (this takes a little patience to get a flat even roll). Then take the tab at the outside back of the neck and fold it over the newly formed collar. Put the tab through the loop on the inside back of the neck and attach it to itself.

Please Note: The PreCip jacket does not have a tab in the neck. The tab is under the visor. All you do is take the tab from the back of the hood, fold the visor back, insert tab and pull back on itself to Velcro close - the hood volume can be reduced, but not rolled up like our other jackets.

Where can I get a Storage Sack for my sleeping bag?

You should store your sleeping bag in a Storage Sack (as opposed to a Stuff Sack). Marmot Storage Sacks sell for about $15, and you can order them direct from us, if you cannot find one locally - call customer service on (888) 357-3262, Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 5pm (PST).

How does Marmot acquire the down for its insulated products?

We believe in the humane treatment of animals. We do not use down provided by "live pluck" operations. We only use down provided after geese have been harvested for food. Our vendors are required to certify that they are complying with our animal rights policy.

Why does my product weight different from what's posted on the website?

When we determine weights for our products, we weigh several size medium products and generate an average weight which is what we list for each product. Any variations from there are based on statistical anomaly, environmental factors, and acceptable variation given the number of components in any one product.
