Retail Marketing Manager

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, team player to successfully implement strategies to develop and manage all marketing programs for North American Marmot flagship stores, Marmot partnership stores, and Marmot wholesale customers (using co-op funding). He/she develops short and long term retail strategies for the brand. Working with promoters, sales reps, merchandising and others to develop and manage retail programs that best promote Marmot’s products, image and core values.

The Retail Marketing Manager reports to the Vice President of Marketing and is responsible for developing annual marketing plans and budgets, working with the media, coordinating retail marketing programs and developing store graphics & window displays.

This position must successfully work with sales, retail management, product management and public relations to optimize benefits to Marmot through enhanced company and product image, translated into increased sales. The position has extensive contact with Marmot employees, customers and vendors; significant tact and negotiation skills required.

BS Degree or equivalent in Marketing and/or 3 to 5 years experience in various phases of business in retail and/or retail marketing (apparel industry a plus). Practical knowledge of related functions such as creative and visual aspects of retail marketing, sales and merchandising, and practical knowledge of promotions and events are also required. The ability to create design drawings is highly desired. Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Illustrator are also required. Successful performance requires well developed skills in negotiating and interpersonal relationships, project planning, organization and management. Domestic overnight travel is required as is the ability to pack and lift boxes up to 40 pounds.

Shipping/Receiving Facilities Coordinator

Wanted – A motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter who works safely, efficiently and takes pride in their work. Must have the ability to focus and prioritize work with constant changes throughout the day. The Facilities Coordinator, reports directly to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for effectively performing all functions of the manual and clerical duties related to shipping and receiving materials for Marmot HQ as well as performing minor maintenance and custodial duties.

Successful performance requires self-motivation and the ability to effectively read and understand a variety of documentation to effectively communicate necessary facility procedures and safety measures. Ability to readily identify discrepancies in shipments, products, and deliveries and communicate to resolve problems is essential.

Qualified candidates must possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in distribution functions
  • Knowledge of transportation and shipping logistics is highly desired
  • Ability to lift in access of 50 lbs
  • Basic counting, workload planning and organization skills as well as competence verbal and written communications skills.
